CURRICULUM VITAE
Professor Fiedler received his Ph.D. degree in inorganic chemistry under the direction of Thomas Brunold at the University at Wisconsin-Madison in 2006. After graduating from Madison, he began an NIH postdoctoral fellowship in the laboratory of Prof. Larry Que, Jr. at the University of Minnesota, where synthesized and characterized high-valent iron complexes with relevance to oxygen activation in biological systems. He joined the faculty at Marquette University in August 2009.

Danushka was born in Kandy, Sri Lanka, and received his bachelor’s degree in Chemistry in 2011 from the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka. He moved to the USA in 2013 and pursued his graduate studies under the guidance of Prof. Claudio Verani at Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan. Danushka earned his doctorate in Inorganic Chemistry in 2019 and joined the Fiedler lab at Marquette University as a postdoctoral fellow. His research focuses on developing structural and functional mimics for sulfoxide synthase enzyme active sites
Praveen Kumar, 5Th year graD student

Praveen was born in Pondicherry, India. In 1997, he immigrated to West Lafayette, Indiana at a young age. He graduated from University of Cincinnati in 2015 with a B.S. in Chemistry. As a graduate assistant, Praveen enjoys instructing general chemistry labs at Marquette. Currently, he is working on synthesizing metal complexes that mimic the active site of dioxygenase-type enzymes. His interests include; racquet sports and video games.

Laxmi is originally from Pokhara, Nepal. After completion of her undergraduate study at Tribhuvan University in Nepal, she came to the United States in 2016 to begin her career as a graduate student. She graduated in 2019 from New Mexico State University with an M.S in chemistry. She joined the Fiedler lab at Marquette University in the same year.
